Cathedral of the Good Shepherd
An oasis of calm reflection in the city.. The Cathedral offers a cool respite from today's heated, hectic society..
This was how the Cathedral compound looked like in the past.. To the left is the Cathedral with its towering steeple while on the right is the Rectory.. In the far background you will see another steeple.. This is the steeple of the 'Town Convent' Chapel (the present day CHIJMES Hall)..
The Sanctuary..
Built in August 1912 by Messrs. Bevington & Sons for $5894.61, the Gallery Organ was dedicated on 20th October 1912 at 4.30pm by The Right Reverend Marie-Luc-Alphonse-Emile Barillon, The Lord Bishop of Malacca.. It was restored in 1984 by Mr. Robert Navaratnam and rededicated on 16th December 1984 by the Rector of the Cathedral, Reverend Father Robert Balhetchet.. This is the oldest surviving pipe organ in Singapore..
