Weekend getaway with Tim to Uppsala!

Took a train..

Which was very empty.. So we got good seats.. Ours came with a table..

Gamla Torget (Old Square)..

Uppsala Cathedral, the largest church building in Scandinavia, dominates the city's skyline..

This cathedral is the seat of the Lutheran Primate of Sweden, the Archbishop of Uppsala..

Here, you can find the tomb of King Gustav Vasa and his consorts..

It also boasts of a treasury in its northwest tower.. An impressive collection of jewelled and enameled liturgical artifacts, funerary regalia from the royal tombs and a fine collection of textiles.. The golden gown of Queen Margareta of Denmark, Norway and Sweden can be found here.. It's the world's only surviving example of female attire from the Middle Ages..

The Museum Gustavianum of Uppsala University..

It's home to one of Europe's few preserved anatomical theatres from the 17th century..

The anatomical theater together with the cupola over it were designed by the polymath Olof Rudbeck the Elder..
